The Sri Yantra

Our Symbol and Our Purpose

The key to mastering the science of creation of what you want and of what you don't want.

Symbols and images hold vibrational frequency that allow information to be shared without the need for words. Just like the feelings that are provoked from seeing someone smile versus seeing them frown. These non-verbal symbols produce a natural reaction in our subconscious.

That is why the choice of a symbol to represent Yoga Lab was so important. We wanted to find a design that embodied the purpose of our collective. Ultimately it was decided that the Sri Yantra was just the mediational piece that would encompass everything we represent.

The Sri Yantra is a symbol that is used and has been meditated on by yogis for centuries. First discovered in India, this multidimensional symbol represents the yogi's journey from the external 4 directions and elements, into the center of the Self.  The center bindi is known as the Atman, this central point that honors divinity and universal consciousness.

Yoga Lab is a center for all beings to come and enhance their practice towards becoming the most successful version of themselves. The Sri Yantra is composed of 9 triangles, 4 point upwards, representing the unmanifest and 5 face downwards representing the creative force of what has already been manifested. The same as every person that steps into our classes, they enter with the power of what they have already accomplished and the potential of what they are becoming.

“The same as every person that steps into our classes, they enter with the power of what they have already accomplished and the potential of what they are becoming.”

The Sri Yantra and Yoga Lab represent the possibility of transformation. They are both examples of honoring the sacredness that naturally arrives when we are committed to bettering ourselves. Whether our personal goals are internal or external, the energy that is expended goes towards elevating wellbeing. The work, the words, the thoughts we produce affect the micro just as deeply as the macro. The Sri Yantra teaches us, “so within and so without”.

“The Sri Yantra and Yoga Lab represent the possibility of transformation.”

It is even believed that meditating upon the Sri Yantra invites in positive vibrations and removes negative, heavy energy. In this sense, the power yantra represents Adi Shakti, the symbol of infinity that reaches into all corners of the universe and has no end or beginning. Everything is energy and how it expresses itself is dependent upon our intentions. When we arrive with positivity anything dense will naturally fall away like the laws of gravity in the material world.

The word “Yantra” translated from Sanskrit means “machine” and when it is preceded with the word “Sri” it comes as a formal suggestion of respect. The term “Sri Yantra'' is honoring the divine essence of creation and the ability to turn thoughts into physical realities. The images we focus upon have the power to influence our well-being and peace of mind.

Yoga Lab invites you to hold this intention: the willingness to experience transformation. To rise up like fire from the ashes and to honor any descents, like rain nourishing our earth. This is where change happens; the grace that comes when we wholeheartedly arrive with our sweetest intentions. Work diligently towards our goals, set deliberate time aside to accomplish those goals, and respect the organic ebbs and flows of the world.

“Yoga Lab invites you to hold this intention: the willingness to experience transformation. To rise up like fire from the ashes and to honor any descents, like rain nourishing our earth.”

The Sri Yantra and Yoga Lab are blueprints that possess the ability to conduct and move energy. When these chakras, energy centers, are meditated on and visited, magical and mundane realities manifest. The Sri Yantra also represents the human body, a tool which is strengthened and nourished through the offerings at Yoga Lab.

Next time you visit Yoga Lab, we invite you to take a moment. To gaze upon the sacred symbol that is respected within the walls of our studio. Let us know how this symbol touches you personally and the transformation it represents for you.

With much love and support,

The Yoga Lab Team
